I have over 10 years in experice in videography. I worked for sears in 2015 as a camera operator learning the dslr for video as well as photography. As a fimmaker, I know the settings are similar to a photo setup. I worked around with many photographers and picked up knowledge and tips on what it takes to a proper exposed and composed photo.

Originally from Belarus, I bring a unique blend of attention to details and artistic vision to my photography. While pursuing my engineering degree, I discovered my passion for capturing the world around me. I honed my skills through workshops and educational programs before embarking on a three-year adventure as a photographer on cruise ships, traversing the globe. Back in Belarus, I transitioned into hard-hitting photojournalism, working for the country's leading daily newspaper, an experience that ignited my dedication to storytelling through powerful imagery. In 2017, I relocated to Chicago, where I continue to thrive as a freelance photographer. My lens captures everything from breaking news and captivating portraits to impactful features. My work has graced the pages of prestigious publications like The Chicago Sun-Times, The Chicago Tribune, and The Daily Mail (UK), showcasing my versatility and dedication. Beyond assignments, I'm deeply passionate about personal projects. Several have even culminated in exhibitions and books, allowing me to share my artistic vision with the world.

My passion for photography has been there since I was a young girl. My mother said I’ve always been interested in seeing how pictures were made- this was back in the days when there were only film cameras around.

How did you get started with photography

My wife is a Chef and I really began to explore the idea of photography to help market her catering and personal chef business. As I began to get more involved in that process my photo skills were improving to the point where I began to get encouragement from other photographers to pursue it as a career. I've always been an admirer of good design, image and composition. To be able to have the ability to create my own images and have people connect with them in such a positive way has been very inspiring.

What do you love about your job?

I love food! There are so many elements of food that delight the senses. Color, texture, smell and of course taste. I really enjoy that I can shoot at a 5 star restaurant one day and a Mom and Pop hot dog joint the next and the challenge to make a mouth watering, crave inducing image is the same in both aspects.

What are some of your favorite places in Chicago to take photographs?

My favorite places are Sushi restaurants. The level of creativity and artistry seems boundless. The array of colors and textures always make for a fantastic experience. I would also have to express a fondness for high end restaurants for some of the same reasons. To see food elevated to the highest levels through such expert execution and premium ingredients is always a treat.
