Hi, I am Miguel Solis. I'm a Creative Photographer and the challenge for me has been first of all to see things as they are, whether it's a portrait, a city street, or a ball. In a word, I have tried to be objective. I am not referring to the objectivity of a machine, but to that of a sensitive human being with his mysterious and personal criteria. The second challenge has been to impose order on the things I see, to provide the visual context and the intellectual framework, which for me is the art of photography.

How did you get started with photography

Right before I graduated high school, my dad loaned me his old film camera from the 60s. My first memory of shooting with that camera was the morning my brother and I skipped school to head out to the beach. I shot a photo of him surfing at sunrise that morning - I fell in love with photography the moment I got the prints back from the developer!

What do you love about your job?

Unpredictability is the best part of photography. You never know what type of job will come your way when you wake up in the morning. I hate routine, so doing something different every day is a great way to keep things interesting and fun!

What are some of your favorite places in Orlando to take photographs?

Orlando, and by extension Florida, offers a variety of locations to shoot. There's a multitude of parks to use in almost every single suburb, and the downtown area offers a great energy to any shoot. Add to that the endless lakes to catch a sunset, or a nearby beach use a gorgeous sunrise to your advantage. I've used countless locations in order to create the photos my clients want, and this makes it easy to choose a location that won't require a lot of travel time for the client.
