How did you get started with photography

My Grandparents lived on the Bayou. There was a Blue Heron that used to come every day and fish off of their dock. My Gramps used to call him 'Old Sam'. My Grandfather gave me an old film camera, so I could remember them when we were moving to Italy, and the first photo I ever took was of 'Old Sam'. Thus, when I started my business, it seemed only fair to give the Blue Heron credit. And that's how Old Sam's Photography was born.

What do you love about your job?

Not just telling the love story, but telling the love story right. And they are all love stories. In love with their significant other, or their children, pets, and even their homes. Their faces when they see their photos is always so gratifying. I also love the freedom and artistic license I'm given with photography. Because it has now become my passion, and no longer is simply my job.

What are some of your favorite places in Daphne to take photographs?

My favorite spots in New Orleans, is actually the Garden District. Lots of flowers and color for backgrounds. The trolley is fun, and of course, the French Quarter, The Aquarium of the Americas, and the River Walk.
