In addition to weddings, Vernon enjoys on-location portraits the most, basing his style surrounding his three elemental must haves in every image he creates. The clients personality, wardrobe, and surroundings, all must coexist in cohesive perfection. because of this method Vernon also considers himself a themed shooter. His work showcases drama with tones of edginess not by using hard shadows and blackness, but he sculptures light to create a moment in time that would never otherwise existed. Vernon strives to provide his clients with works that if viewed while scrolling a page, the viewer must stop, therefore setting out to be against the norm. He is apt to teach as well and enjoys the moment when a student finally realizes what has held them back through his instruction. How did you get started with photography

I grew up taking photos as a kid. Photographing sporting and family events, those experiences sparked an interest in capturing memories for anyone I could get a lens in front of and it became my passion. From there I read and studied under several professional photographers to fine tune my skills. I cannot think of doing anything else.

What do you love about your job?

I love that photography is an ever changing art. Every job is familiar but different. The people, the location, even the time of day can change how a photo turns out and is seen. Understanding what is required to capture those moments and how to use your equipment and past knowledge to correctly capture them is key.

What are some of your favorite places in Allentown to take photographs?

My images are more concerned with the subject versus the surroundings behind it. If you want a beautiful photo of a great skyline or building in the background I can offer it. My relationship with my clients and what they tell me they want to see in their photos is key.
