More about Van P....
What do you love about your job?
I am a storyteller and I love to tell your story through my lenses. Each person has their own story therefore your pictures would be unique to you and that is something I enjoy capturing. Quite often, my clients are surprised when they receive their pictures.
As your storyteller, I would first be your friend. I prefer to connect with my clients on a more personal level so that they feel comfortable to be around me. After all, we are more relaxed when we get our pictures taken by a friend rather than a stranger. I can also help you to select the outfits if needed. Some of my clients were surprised that I paid attention to the smallest details that may ruin a picture for them.
During our session, I would try my best to make you feel comfortable because your natural emotions is something that no software can create. I would join you as a friend, laugh with you, share stories, play games and make you forget that I’m your photographer (some clients told me they didn't know I was taking pictures at all!). There won’t be any instructions from me telling you what poses to do, how you should kiss and all those common instructions that people feel awkward to follow. When viewing your images, they would bring back memories of what happens during the shoot and that is something I’ve always aimed to deliver.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I have done a variety of photography - from portraits, newborn, pre-wedding, family to events. I make them special by being friend with the clients - take my time to listen to them, understand them and shoot their stories through lens. The results are pictures that are unique to their own identity and my clients have told me that they loved how they could see their true selves in my pictures.

A fun fact about this photographer
I graduated as a food scientist from RMIT and worked in the food industry for a while before giving it up for photography, appeared on TV in Vietnam performing traditional music when I was in high school before coming to Australia. Love cats and cooking. Also a qualified early childhood educator - which makes it easier for me to connect to children, yay!.
