More about Tom D....
What do you love about your job?
With my technical acumen and graphic design background, I bring a lot of joy to people's lives with my photos. Many of my clients are shocked on how they look so good in the photos I take. There are many details to consider in every photo shoot however if we focus on bringing out emotions in our photos, we have done our job. Obstacles only show up when we take our eyes off the goal. Good photography moves people.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I have done weddings and couple shoots. I find developing a rapport before the shoot takes place really important. Talk on the phone, share recent photos, share social media postings, etc. I have a Lightroom collection of different poses I share with clients. This helps 2 fold...it allows me to show off my work ALSO gives non-model subjects ideas on how to stand or place they hands.
Photography subjects are more natural and relaxed if they feel they know and trust you. What I find paramount is ALWAYS let the subject know how good they look and how great the photos look as they shoot goes on. Confidence is very important for photography subjects.
