Studying a 3-year degree in creative media production gave me a strong foundation in the field, including technical skills and theoretical knowledge.
Once I had completed my degree I went on to freelance which was a great way to gain real-world experience in the industry. I had the chance to work on a variety of projects and build my portfolio, while also honing my skills and learning from others in the industry.
I got the opportunity to join a creative agency to further develop my skill set in photography, this exposed me to a variety of projects and clients, which required me to adapt my skills to different needs and styles.
i've always has a passion for photography even before my education and work experience, but this has lead to me have a better understanding of why i have the passion i do.

More about Sam c....

What do you love about your job?

One of the things I love most about photography is the variety it offers. Whether I'm shooting for different brands or working on a personal project, every day is different, and there is always something new to learn and explore. Being able to see the end result of my work and the impact it has on others is incredibly rewarding, and it's what drives me to keep pushing myself creatively. From the initial concept to the final edit, there is something magical about the process of bringing an idea to life through photography. It's a unique form of storytelling that allows me to connect with people in a meaningful way, and I feel fortunate to be able to do something I love every day.

What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?

I've also done pro bono work in the past, as I believe that photography can be a powerful way to support important causes and give back to the community. Additionally, working with smaller brands that may not have a large budget for marketing and content creation can be rewarding, as I'm able to provide them with quality images and content in exchange for exposure or other forms of compensation. This allows me to use my skills and experience to help others while also building my own portfolio and network. Overall, whether it's through pro bono work or collaborations with smaller brands, I enjoy using my photography to create meaningful content that has a positive impact.

A fun fact about this photographer

I had a year break from my creative endeavours after university as i wanted to become a builder but knew i had to come back to my passion.
