More about Peter K....
What do you love about your job?
I love getting to know people. My camera is a ticket to places that I might otherwise not have access. My camera has taken me to the frontlines of history and to exclusive clubs, to refugee camps, and to fashion expositions. There is so much to explore in life and I am blessed to be able to pursue that exploration in a creative way and to communicate that exploration to others.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I have taken a lot of event photos at parties in Los Angeles. My favorites are when you catch a person or a group really expressing themselves at the bar, on the dancefloor, at the DJ booth or wherever their night takes them. I try to always look for people who look like they are comfortable being wherever they are. The more comfortable the person is in the environment, the more likely you are as the photographer to get that moment of authenticity.
Awards, honors, and recognitions received
My work was featured at the Hive Gallery in Downtown Los Angeles in 2020 and 2021, and I my fashion work has been published in three different magazines.
A fun fact about this photographer
I quit my job to drive to Tijuana and take photos of the migrant caravans in 2018 which was the beginning of my professional photography career.
