More about Norm M....
What do you love about your job?
I love the interaction with my clients, I love to tell their story from a different perspective and point of view. My style is a photojournalistic approach, I like to allow the scene to unfold in front of the lens. I give minimal direction because I feel that's how you capture the most natural and amazing shots, the ones you don't "pose" or "tell" your subject what to do. Most clients I've worked with appreciate the indirect approach I have to getting the amazing shots they love.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I have done several family shoots. When I work with families it's important to me that everyone is at ease, I tend to make sure the kids are involved. Once the kids become involved and engaged with you, the parents and other adults tend to let their guard down and you can get those authentic and beautiful images. I've also done several weddings and engagement sessions, I particularly enjoy the engagement sessions, because you can have couples push their comfort levels a bit to get some amazing shots, plus most brides-to-be love the idea that everyone in the area you're shooting in has all eyes on them for that 45 mins to an hour session.
