More about Nigel H....
What do you love about your job?
I love the quest to capture the perfect image, or set of images, that either capture(s) a moment in time, or distils the intrinsic timeless beauty of a place.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I've done quite a wide range of shoots, from photographing Maasai tribesmen in Kenya, to the interiors of student accommodation in Exeter, southwest England, and a lot that lies between. They are all special, because they are all different, all present a challenge, and all deserve to be photographed to the highest possible standard.
Awards, honors, and recognitions received
I was awarded a Fellowship of the British Institute of Professional Photography in 2012, the highest qualification in what is one of the UK's leading professional photography bodies. Shortly after this, I was invited to join what is now called the National Geographic Image Collection.
A fun fact about this photographer
I lived for over a decade in the Far East, mostly in Hong Kong, though also in Taiwan and Japan. During that time I photographed extensively in China and Japan, married a Taiwanese woman, and learned to speak and read both Mandarin Chinese and Japanese.
