More about Nick C....
What do you love about your job?
I love creative challenges and providing the most unique, high quality work possible for every client. I can't think of a photography job that hasn't pushed me and challenged me to find creative solutions. I am in love with photographic techniques and how they can be implemented to tell stories.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I have done lots of editorial and travel work, where I do plenty of research on the story and history of what I'm trying to cover, and I try to find unique slices of the event that conveys the overall feel and energy of the story. I have one particular shot in mind of a local band conductor performing in his first ever concert with that band, that I shot for a local paper. I have a shot of him isolated against the stained glass of the church leading the band and calling for a crescendo. The image not only shows the conductor, but it also gives a sense of location, and showcases his power, and leadership. The energy of his hand beckoning the orchestra and expression on his face all convey his rise to the front stand of the band, and I look for this visual storytelling and language in every shoot I do.
