More about Neil R....
What do you love about your job?
Every shoot is always a challenge. It is always dynamic. I also like a cool event & a good party, even if I'm working.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I have photographed baby ballerinas, plumbing parts, weddings, Quincineras, parties, politicians, pets, fire eaters, famous weather predicting groundhogs, cars, races, manufacturing facilities, products, skiers, kayakers, horses in the ocean, landscapes, coral reefs, fish and models. I make them special by looking for what is special and unique about them. My philosophy is minimal direction and maximum comfort for the subjects.
Awards, honors, and recognitions received
I have only entered one competition. The Carnegie Museum of Natural History Natural World Photo Contest.
I won Best of Show & bought a camera - Nikonos IV- with the prize money.
Photography is not a competition. There are fabulous, insanely great photos taken every day.
A fun fact about this photographer
I went to grade school in Martha Washington's hometown.
