More about Lindsay S....
What do you love about your job?
I feel that I've always had a talent for making and creating things. I love photography because it allows me to not only tap into my creative side, but also record tangible moments of beauty. With those recordings, I can amplify my photos to reflect a mood, or create something unorthodox.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I've shot with friends at various locations, as well as neighbors in their apartments. The most important aspect of a shoot to me is knowing that the photographer and subject are in sync and have mutual expectations. Communication, and aligning on a photography-brief as well as the general expectations of the final photos are key to success.
When people aren't directly involved, I like to meander around my environment and shoot whatever I find to be unique. I also try to consider how I'd like the final image to appear as I'm photographing it -- bonus points to myself if I can create something more abstract or dreamlike while still honoring the subject.
Awards, honors, and recognitions received
No legitimate awards or accolades, but who knows what the future holds! I'm just looking forward to working.
A fun fact about this photographer
I used to fence (sabré) in high school and college.
I've also travelled to 6 continents, with Australia being the last one that I need to touch down on!
If we also work together, please bring your dog.
