More about Joshua G....
What do you love about your job?
I love the different types of people I get to meet. I like to get to know my subjects, or people involved in the project. The better I get to know the people involved in what I'm shooting, the better I can tailor to their desires.
I love the perspective it gives me, and the challenge it brings to put "a feeling" on screen.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
What types of shoots have I done?
Oh boy, I don't know if there's enough space to list that.
As far as what do I do to make them special?
Well, I use a common theme for every one of them.
I always do a little research on my subjects. Most the time it comes down to our conversations.
I think people start speaking openly to me faster than they ever thought they would. Once I understand them a little deeper I try to do something they would like.
It could be in the form of a gift (many are), maybe extra photos in a special collage, insight into something they want, a sentimental prop in the shoot or location....it's different every time.
I try to do more than just "take photos"...I want it to be an experience for the person/people.
Awards, honors, and recognitions received
I don't have any specific awards for photography I don't think...one of my photos was in Rolling Stone Magazine once. That was pretty awesome.
BUT, I do have 70k REAL followers on Instagram haha....I guess every one of those follows is a reward because my photography resonated with them. ;)
A fun fact about this photographer
Fun fact! My nose is built from my ear. No joke. I had sinus surgery a few years back because I couldn't breathe out of my nose and they rebuilt my entire nose with the cartilage from the back of my ear.
