More about John P....
What do you love about your job?
Photography is my way both of expressing myself, and of telling stories about my subjects, from flowers to technology, from portraiture to sport. My photography has led to several publish books featuring my work.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I've shot everything throughout my career. Sports feature what I call "apex" moments — the ball on the foot, or racquet. Milliseconds separate a great photo from an average one. Landscapes and industrial photographs are often a test of patience, but again, they can be outstanding if you're willing to apply yourself to understanding the conditions in which the subject will be lit for best effect.
Awards, honors, and recognitions received
I received numerous nominations for my press work, but I don't consciously seek recognition through industry bodies. I don't focus on anything I have shot, believing that everything can always be improved, and that my best work is yet to come.
A fun fact about this photographer
I've published 5 books on everything from the history of information technology (320 pages) to regional histories, management philosophy, biographies, and artist profiles.
