More about Jim S....

What do you love about your job?

I love the freedom and creativity that photography allows me. Its fun to take a thought or vision in my mind and turn it into something everyone can appreciate. Growing up my brother was a magician and I feel that inspired me do make my own magic. At the end of the day its all about pleasing the client and I only feel I have done my job when the client is happy with the final images.

What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?

Before I do any photo shoot I always talk through all the details of the shoot and make sure the client and I are on the same page. We discuss wardrobe, location, hair, makeup, props, poses, lighting, weather and expectations. The more we communicate upfront the better the results. It puts both the client and myself at ease so we can both relax during the shoot and it shows.

A fun fact about this photographer

When cleaning out my parents garage to build a darkroom I discovered their long forgotten stash of hard liquor. Needless to say my first darkroom also became my first bar. I was very popular in high school. Some say thats really what got me into photography.
