More about Ellie S....
What do you love about your job?
I love being able to take the intangible magic in a moment and immortalize it in a photo. Because I tend to shoot moments in which people are joyful and enthusiastic, I enjoy being able to convey those emotions in a way that allows my clients to relive those emotions. P.T. Barnum said “The noblest art is that of making others happy,” and that is exactly what I seek to do with my photography.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
One of my very first shoots involved a surprise proposal on a beach just outside of Disney World, overlooking Cinderella’s castle. The bride-to-be thought that we were just taking a few nice couples photos for social media, but her boyfriend had other intentions. When his nerves got in the way, I encouraged them to speak candidly about the moments they looked forward to on their Disney vacation, which led into a fairytale proposal. After the big moment, we continued to take more photos around the theme parks with some props that I had brought. In the shoots that I’ve done since then, whether it has been portrait sessions or events, I’ve tried to make things special by bringing not only useful props when relevant, but also a cheerful attitude that brings out the enthusiasm in others.
