More about Dan K....
What do you love about your job?
Making people happy with my art is really what it is all about for me. With much of my photography I am thinking about how it will look in print. Even if there is no intention of getting anything printed. I get thrill out of capturing the image. Nailing the exposure, the look, the lighting. I strive to get the capture correct in the camera and really try to fill the frame so I crop less in processing. Delivering images to a client that they are really satisfied with is always the ultimate goal. Whether it's real estate photos for marketing a home, capturing the perfect image for a bill board, or catching bands at their best on stage, or creating the perfect portrait, I love doing it all. Making my clients happy is what I love best.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
With most shoots it's about telling a story. With events it about capturing the people, the whole crowd, the vendors, the details to create a complete story, with people it using my quirky sense of humor to help them relax, with architecture it all about the angles and the weather. It's all about adjusting to the moment.
Awards, honors, and recognitions received
My work has been featured in the local paper many times, it is displayed in local art galleries and businesses, in 2023 the chamber of commerce asked me to join them as one of their featured photographers and one of my images was chosen for the cover of their publication.
A fun fact about this photographer
Besides being a photographer I am a musician, and was a guitar player in a heavy metal band for many years.
