More about Chanel F....
What do you love about your job?
My favorite part of my job is the connections and relationships that are built through the process. Portrait photography requires a certain level of vulnerability, to varying degrees, and a foundation of trust and mutual respect is so important. Strong foundations like that lead to beautiful connections, which ultimately produce the most genuine and artistic portrait work! I don’t view my clients as jobs, and my clients don’t view me as “the photographer”; we develop a real rapport that leads to beautiful work and a recipe for a great recurring business relationship for ongoing portrait needs!
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I have photographed pretty much every genre of portrait photography, from weddings and events in the past, to now specializing in more personal portrait photography. My specialties are maternity sessions, individual glamour sessions for women, and milestone birthday portraits to name a few. I often love incorporating fresh flowers or other small props that relate to the client’s motivation for doing a session when it makes sense. My priority is always my client’s comfort, so I am constantly checking on how they’re feeling and ways to make them more comfortable (ie, do they need water, a temperature change, etc.).
Awards, honors, and recognitions received
Listed Best of The Knot for boudoir photography in 2019; sold my first photographic print at an art exhibit in 2021 to a women's art collective; had my photography chosen for a book cover in 2022; my fine art prints are currently on display in a local med spa!
A fun fact about this photographer
I'm originally from New Jersey, outside of Atlantic City, so one of my earlier jobs was as a table games dealer! People who are unfamiliar with casino life usually find this to be "cool and unusual"! I'm also an artist in every sense of the word, so I've been a graphite artist, I played the flute from 4th grade through college, and I'm also a published author! I'm working on publishing my first standalone novel as we speak!
