After teaching art for nearly 30 years in public school, Bryan made the decision to retire early in July 2018 and pursue his passion, photography. Photography has always been a staple in his life, and he is looking forward to fully immersing myself into the art of capturing beautiful images of people, places, things, nature, and those special moments in everyone's life. Simply put...he has dedicated his life to promoting creativity in others, now he just want to make art. Bryan has been a painter, a sculptor, and a graphic designer, now it's time to create with light and show the essence of the world through photography.

More about Bryan B....

What do you love about your job?

I love capturing the world through the lens of my own experience. We all see the world in our own unique perspective, and photography is my tool for representing the material reality around me.

What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?

Weddings, senior photos, large events, special parties celebrating life events, and the most fun of all...renaissance festivals! To make a photo special the photographer must capture an event, or an emotion of a person in it's raw form. Not staged, or preconceived, but grabbing a moment of time in the purest reflection of that moment. The candid shot is the most special.

Awards, honors, and recognitions received

In 2018 I won third place in the Kansas City Renaissance Festival photo contest. In 2019 I improved the feat by placing 1st place in the KC Photo contest! I won season tickets to the 2020 Kansas City Renaissance Festival...but unfortunately there wasn't a 2020 festival.

A fun fact about this photographer

I play drums for a belly dance troupe. I was the president of the local astronomical society for 12 years. I have one blind eye.
