More about Brian M....
What do you love about your job?
In photography there is a reality so subtle that it becomes more real than reality. “There is one thing the photograph must contain, the humanity of the moment.” “Taking an image, freezing a moment, reveals how rich reality truly is.” “Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving and caring.
My motto is “look forward to looking back”. And This sums up why I don’t like what I do, I love what I do!!
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
Photographing families are always special because this is the opportunity that you get to know the family in a more personable way. I love getting excited and getting my clients excited before and during the actual session. And when I deliver the final piece that is perfectly edited and retouched I really enjoy the positive feedback.
Also events such as weddings are very special because this is a once in a lifetime moment And I take this job very seriously when capturing these very intimate moments between a couple. Nothing makes me happier than to see my clients enjoying the fruits of my labor and holding onto these memories whether they are digital or printed for the rest of their lives. That’s very special.
Awards, honors, and recognitions received
In the past 28 years I have received 12 accolades and 10 red and yellow ribbon awards for outstanding portraiture through the Professional Photographers of America and The Detroit Professional Photographers Association.
I’ve also been published in numerous magazines and newspapers and have freelance for both Detroit news Free Press and Oakland press over the years to cover Breaking news stories.
A fun fact about this photographer
I enjoy ballroom swing dancing, bicycling and I also love to cook. I also enjoy boating on my pontoon during the summer and throwing out a fishing rod now and again.
