More about Anna S....
What do you love about your job?
I love using photography as a means of expression. There are so many different ways to capture feelings in a single image, and I believe that everyone experiences an array of different emotions that can be represented by imagery. Experimenting with composition, poses, lighting, and editing techniques is how I prefer to spend my time. I have also found that I learn a lot about myself through the work that I do for clients. The ways in which I interpret their lives allows me a unique way to self-reflect.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I have done a variety of shoots throughout my career, including poignant portraiture, lifestyle, product, travel/landscape, and food photography. With the exception of travel photography, in all other types of shoots I communicate with a client to form a clear understanding of exactly what it is I mean to capture. I think that's what makes my images special in the end. Other photographers are "snap and go," and while there's nothing wrong with spontaneity, that it a method that doesn't always come naturally to me. I prefer to really think about how, through lighting/editing/posing techniques, I can visually represent what my client is looking for.
