What do you love about your job?
I am fascinated by light, the way we see it, interact with it and the tools we use to manipulate it, I love creating images almost as much as I love meeting new people, seeing the joy they feel when they see the first kiss at a wedding that went by far to quickly or their son kick a goal at his first soccer match. sharing those moments is something that has stuck with me every time ever since my very first shoot.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
My idea of a perfect day of shooting does not feel like a shoot at all I think, for example, I almost never use assistance, my assistants end up being anyone that the client has brought along, use everything at your disposal! don't control people get them excited and involved, don't control light, play with it, capture things naturally. Plus I wanna have just as much fun as they are so I encourage people to invite friends, laugh, play loud music, whatever makes them comfortable. enjoy the experience and it will be remembered fondly.
