More about Alexis K....
What do you love about your job?
I love to create a cinematic visual experience for viewers. I want people to feel themselves within my work. I want to create an impact on others and to make them feel moved, but not necessarily by my visual work, but what they see within it and how it makes them FEEL. I love making people FEEL something, that is my main objective with my work.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I have done a variety of shoots and I would say the types of shoots that were special are the ones for artists and their promotional photos or album work. I made them special by connecting with the artists and understanding who they are as an individual and I base my vision off of who they are and what their intentions are with their work. I believe just connecting with someone on a deeper level is what will be the determining factor of how special the end-product turns out.
Awards, honors, and recognitions received
I have had 3 publications in magazines for my photography. I have 2 editorials that have been published on Stoned Fox Magazine and on The Photographic Journal. My most recent publication was an interview published by VoyagePhoenix Magazine for their Thought-Provoker series.
A fun fact about this photographer
I moved to the Bay Area a few months ago with no plans, no family, no job, only enough gas to make it to North California from Arizona. I only had one friend out here that I had met on the internet.
