More about Ricky L....
What do you love about your job?
The biggest thrill for me, specifically when shooting real estate is capturing the best qualities a property has to offer and presenting that property for the market. A job well done will assist the real estate agent/builder to convert that listing closer to their asking price, and the homeowner found exactly what they were looking for, it's a win/win.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I've shot celebrities, covered protests, weddings, food-- you name it. But I've been very productive and found great success with real estate photography over the last five years. I go above and beyond, I will overshoot a project and hand select the very best images for that property/client, I take the time to seek out the floor-plan and strategize the best angles (if possible) before arriving at a property, take notes to highlight what's important for the client and I'm ready to hit the ground running.
Awards, honors, and recognitions received
The best recognition I've received are from satisfied clients. My focus is real estate and over the years I haven't submitted images for publication, honors or awards as much because I love what I'm currently doing. A few years ago an image of mine did make it's way onto the front cover of the Sun in the UK and subsequently went viral, that was fun!
A fun fact about this photographer
My wife and I own property in the shadow of Big Bend National Park and we are building a tiny house, I love making homemade pasta, the great Martin Short once nearly kicked me in the head while performing at Moontower festival in Austin-- that was a highlight for me, for sure, what a legend.
