More about Matt B....
What do you love about your job?
The true joy in photography for me, is actually nothing do to with the camera or technicals. Its about the pleasure in bringing someone happiness. Seeing the joy someone gets in seeing themselves in a way they've never before seen, finding new confidence, seeing their own beauty, seeing someone achieve their goals or dreams with their new photos, is really the true satisfaction.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I've had some fun and unique times on shoots before! At a 5 year olds birthday party, I actually jumped into the Bounce House with about 20 kids, and photographed them jumping around. I had a rooftop shoot in New York once where the client stood on a step stool (all safe!) to avoid the rooftop wall and have an unobstructed view of the city skyline behind her. I love it when a shoot has an element of challenge - remembering also a yoga shoot in central park right on the lake edge, a street shoot in soho with cars racing by, and many more.
In every shoot equally I aim to make them real fun. I believe in whatever the purpose of the shoot, and where ever it takes place, the photographer and the subject must be having fun!
Awards, honors, and recognitions received
I haven't won any awards, but gaining the recognition of an ever increasing community of artists and clients who choose me to photograph them, with which they'll use to promote themselves and further their careers, is the best recognition and compliment I could ask for.
A fun fact about this photographer
I'm a jazz musician as well - I've been playing the piano since I was 5, have toured all over the world, recorded 6 albums and was a 3 time semi-finalist in the Montreux Jazz Festival solo piano competition.
