More about Josh L....
What do you love about your job?
I believe, to call playing with cameras a job is ridiculous. It is, in my eyes, a passion that I enjoy and appreciate that I have the opportunity to learn and be good at. Taking photos and making videos are about telling stories, and I love to capture and relive the moments when it all happened. One photo can change a person's mind about anything. A video can help them realize something they never did before.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I have done so many shoots over the years, and each one I try and inject my humor and personality into the situation. Because of this, people find me easy to work with and relate to. I just try and make people feel comfortable and attractive. I love showing self-conscious people their photo-friendly attributes they didn't know existed.
Awards, honors, and recognitions received
I have not received any honors, awards, or special recognition for my photography. I also haven't submitted for anything, nor been submitted (that I know of). But my mom thinks I'm really good, and my friend's mother cried the other week when she saw the golden hour/sunset maternity photos I took of her daughter. She told me it was like seeing something angelic on the screen. Eric Clapton once said he hoped he could make someone cry with one of his solos. As an "artist", being told you've induced tears is honor enough for me.
A fun fact about this photographer
I studied music for many years, even attending a Jazz music college for guitar. Oddly, though, I'm actually a blues-trained guitarist. Another fun fact is that I'm not afraid of people.
