More about Eric M....
What do you love about your job?
What I love most about my job as a food photographer is the opportunity to blend my passion for food with my love for visual storytelling. Every day presents a new canvas to create something beautiful, whether it's a simple plate of pasta or an elaborate culinary masterpiece.
I love the creative process of working with chefs and artisans to bring their creations to life through photography. There's a sense of collaboration and shared vision that fuels my creativity and inspires me to push the boundaries of what's possible.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is the ability to evoke emotions and stir the senses through my photographs. I love the idea that a single image has the power to transport viewers to another time and place, igniting memories, sparking curiosity, and even inspiring action.
But perhaps what I love most of all is the joy that my work brings to others. Whether it's a chef seeing their dish captured in a new light or a viewer feeling inspired to try a new recipe, knowing that my photographs have the power to connect people through a shared love of food is incredibly fulfilling.
In essence, what I love about my job is the opportunity to combine my passions and talents in a way that not only brings joy to myself but also enriches the lives of others. It's a privilege and a pleasure to do what I love every day, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I've had the privilege of working on a wide range of food photography shoots, each with its unique character and challenges.
Restaurant and Food Brand Shoots: When working with restaurants and food brands, I focus on capturing the unique ambiance and identity of each establishment or product. Whether it's a cozy neighborhood bistro or a sleek, modern eatery, I strive to convey the atmosphere and experience of dining there through my photographs. I also highlight the craftsmanship and attention to detail that goes into each dish or product, using lighting, composition, and styling to make them look as enticing as possible. By tailoring my approach to each client's brand and vision, I aim to create images that are not only visually stunning but also authentically reflect their identity and values.
In all types of shoots, my goal is to create images that not only showcase the food itself but also tell a story and evoke emotions. Whether I'm shooting on a farm, in a restaurant kitchen, or a studio, I draw on my passion for food and storytelling to make each shoot special and memorable.
