How did you get started with photography

I was given a camera on my tenth birthday, when I fell in love with making images of the world around me. The 35mm film class in my senior year of high school only fed that passion, adding the meticulous and romantic action of developing of each image in a darkroom. I grew my skill by working at the local camera shop, working under an award-winning photographer, and taking as many classes in and out of school as I could find.

What do you love about your job?

In school, I was trained to shoot like a documentarian - from wide to tight - telling an entire story of whatever I was photographing. I have taken that training too all the jobs I take, whether it is product or travel or portraiture. I love taking an angle or a perspective that others don't notice, I love surprising my clients with the unexpected, I love creating that really special image that others can fall in love with.

What are some of your favorite places in Los Angeles to take photographs?

Anywhere in Southern California, my favorite place to shoot is the beach in the early morning. It adds a beautiful and etherial feel to my photos.
