Toni Lovejoy is an African American artist based in Charlotte, NC. Raised by a renowned American Western Artist and educated at Colorado Institute of Art, she’s been creating images for over 30 years starting in sports and fashion. She began her career as a photojournalist in Iowa photographing sports, then fashion and editorial work in Australia. After moving to the States in the 80s to continue her fashion work, she spent a year interning in a fashion studio before beginning to work in the film and commercial world. In 2008 Lovejoy made the switch from film to digital and began exploring landscape photography.

I love showing individuals how beautiful they are, especially when they come into a session insecure and not believing in themselves. Portraiture is all about giving to the individuals and giving them an experience that feeds their soul.

I have done many portrait sessions for families and individuals. I make sure each shoot fits the style and mood of the client. Everything from food to music is specialized. Each shoot should be as unique as the person/family being photographed.
