John Yuhas is a photographer based in New York City. He specializes in many forms of photography, including real estate, portraiture, studio, commercial, and event photography. He also has experience in videography, retouching, and book design, which improves client content and expands the medium of photography. Walking the streets of New York City with his camera has grown his skills and eye as a photographer and allows him to meet photographers and artists who motivate him as a creative. He takes a lot of my inspiration from books, art, the Spanish language, TV, and the people that make up this beautiful city.

Was liebst du an deinem Job?

I love to be in control of my work. I get to set my hours, make images in areas of photography I excel at, and set high standards for quality. I also love meeting the people that come with the craft. It highlights the diversity of perspectives that live out there. Something about photography sits right with my life, as though it runs through my veins. It could be because I started at such a young age and surround myself with photographers and other artists. I feed off their inspiring energy and grow from their insight and technique. It's a great feeling to make a living with what you love to do.

Welche Shootings hast du schon gemacht und wie hast du sie besonders gemacht?

I have done many portrait sessions, and real estate shoots. They fall into the mundane and straightforward category of photography. I think it's essential to bring 110% energy to all shoots regardless of the subject matter, location and type. I often carry a speaker to get the blood flowing and muscles moving and get people in the right mood, especially when a client is nervous in front of the camera. I use tether capture when in a studio so the model and assistants can look at the photos as I take them. It is always helpful to have critique while working. In a real estate setting, I work with the realtor and the tenant to highlight the space in a way they would like to.

Wissenswertes über diesen Fotografen

I was a rower in middle and high school on the Philadelphia City Rowing team in an eight and had a sub-seven two-thousand meter. We rowed five to six days a week, it was brutal but it shaped me into who I am today.
